Madison County’s 13th CERT class has been scheduled for September. This will be a special class held during the DAYTIME. The class will be held at Crisis Services of North Alabama. The class schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, September 5th 9AM – 11AM Unit 1 Disaster Preparedness
Tuesday, September 5th 1PM – 3PM Unit 2 Fire Safety

Thursday, September 7th 9AM – 11AM Unit 3 Disaster Medical Operations I
Thursday, September 7th 1PM – 3PM Unit 4 Disaster Medical Operations II

Tuesday, September 12th, 9AM – 11AM Unit 5 Light Search and Rescue
Tuesday, September 12th, 1PM – 2:30PM Unit 6 CERT Organization
Tuesday, September 12th, 2:30PM – 3:30PM Unit 7 Disaster Psychology

FRIDAY, September 15th, 9AM – 11AM Unit 8 Terrorism Awareness
FRIDAY, September 15th, 1PM – 3PM Unit 9 Review and Simulated Disaster Exercise

Alabama Be Ready Day

"Be Ready Day," an annual statewide community preparedness event, will be held on September 14, 2006, in Huntsville, Alabama. Attendees will receive education and training on ways to prepare for disasters and emergencies, learn of volunteer opportunities in their communities, and have the opportunity to observe first responders demonstrating their preparedness and response capabilities.
